Greenwich CT City Guide - Touring With Morgan and Maddie

Racing around town with Morgan, Maddie & MerriMane!

When Morgan and I were introduced this summer I was instantly drawn to her. Her candor in her blog "Lilies and Lambs" is refreshing - celebrating the exciting and mundane parts of motherhood. Her content varies from travel to food and style which I personally enjoy so much. The one constant throughout her blog is her daughter Maddie. A shining light taking on each day with joy and fearlessness that we all hope to instill in our children.

Taking your children along for daily adventures is what MerriMane is all about. I want children to look appropriate and feel great and Maddie is the perfect little one to show how our Cruise can do it all around Greenwich, CT.

Favorite Outdoor Activities

We love to spend time at Tod’s Point or playing on the playgrounds at our local elementary schools. The Stamford Museum and Nature Center is a great place to explore with the kids. And seasonally we love to visit Silverman’s Farm in Easton for apple picking and Sam Bridge Nursery for pumpkin picking.

Coffee & Donut Spots

If I’m in Old Greenwich I’ll grab my afternoon latté at Sweet Pea’s. I also love the coffee at Lorca in Cos Cob, Neat in Darien, Ada’s in Riverside and Coffee Cafe Roasters on the Avenue.

Shopping

When it comes to shopping for Maddie’s clothes, we do a mix of high and low. I get a lot of everyday pieces from Gap,  Zara, J.Crew and Vineyard Vines. We have been hooked on Roberta Roller Rabbit for pajamas since she was a baby. If we’re shopping for a special occasion I’ll pop into Jacadi, Hoagland’s or Anna Banana.

I like to invest in good boots for Maddie this time of year- Hunters for rain, Uggs for cold, and a nice pair of little black boots to wear with dresses or pants (when she lets me). I also like to invest in good jackets for the season, like her Barbour coat and her MerriMane fleece. I love that her fleece is durable enough for every day and is pretty enough to be paired with a dress for a special occasion. It can also be thrown in the wash when it gets a bit messy.

Morgan's Style

My style is pretty laid-back and is a mixture of influences from my time spent on both coasts. I live in my Madewell demi-crop jeans these days, and like to pair them with a classic slide and a cozy sweater. If I feel like dressing up a bit, I tend to lean towards a breezy maxi paired with mules or booties and a sweater or jacket draped over the shoulders.
